Favorite Props for Product Photography

Today I’m showing you my favorite props I use all the time for product photography. They’re all budget friendly, don’t take up a lot of storage space and can be reused lots of times. So let’s get right into it!

#1 Pretty cutting boards. I have a wood cutting board and a marble cutting board. Both of them I initially got for the kitchen, but they are so pretty that I love using them as backdrops.

#2 Contact paper form Amazon. These are such an amazing option to get a huge variety of backdrops for not a lot of money and they’re super easy to store. I’m currently obsessed with this dark marble one! Pro tip: You don’t even need to buy these especially for product photography! You can do cool furniture DIYs with them, or if somebody else is using them you can ask them if they have any scrap pieces you can use. I got my dark marble piece from my sister acutally. I haven’t used mine yet, but I’m really excited to create a cool image with it!

You can use the contact paper two ways: Lay it flat like a normal backdrop, or stick it on a flat surface. The first one is more multiple-use friendly of course.

#3 A spray bottle. I love using spray bottles filled with water on my shoots! Spraying products with a soft layer of water makes them look fresh and it brings texture into the shot. You can buy these at drugstores, or reuse ones you already have from setting sprays, cleaning supplies or similar.

#4 Pictureframe glass/plastic. These pieces of glass or plastic are another favorite! They are a reflective surface, which makes your photo look a lot more high end. You can also use these as a protection for the cutting boards or contact paper mentioned earlier.
